Recently the original Shaoxing opera epic “Brave Sword Throughout the Ages” Tour was unfolded in the Cultural Hall, Limuzha Village, Lanting Sub-district, presenting a cultural feast to the villagers at their doorstep.

Around 18:00, the villagers came to the Cultural Hall, waiting for the opera show. With the sound of drums and gongs, the show officially began. On the stage, the actors sang melodiously and acted smoothly. In response to the thrilling plot and cosmic synchronization, the villagers couldn’t help but call it fun.

It is understood that “Brave Sword Throughout the Ages” features the backdrop of Shaoxing throughout the ages. Through the interpretation of the stories of Fan Zhongyan, Xu Wei, Wang Yangming, Lu Xun and other historical figures, the opera shows the allusion of King Goujian of Yue undergoing great hardships to regain regime and the “Brave Sword spirit” long inherited in the land of Yue. Xie Daoyun and Wang Yangming in the opera were deeply related to Lanting. The Tomb of Xu Wei and Yinshan Mausoleum of the King of Yue—The Tomb of Yunchang, Father of King Goujian were both located in Limuzha Village. Therefore, the tour opening in Limuzha Village has special significance.

In recent years, the Cultural Hall of Limuzha Village has actively played the role of cultural front, and systematically displayed the historical evolution and customs of the village through the graphic display board and physical display, keeping the local cultural memories alive, and truly becoming the spiritual home of the villagers.

It is understood that the tour is the highlight of the people-benefiting performance themed with "Good Opera in the Cultural Hall" in Keqiao District in 2025. During the one-and-a-half month tour, the opera will be performed in the Village Cultural Hall, universities and theaters, and 20 performances will be held in order to carry forward the culture of Yue and keep the "Brave Sword spirit" alive.
