Keqiao District is seated in prosperous Ningshao Plain in northern Shaoxing City of Zhejiang Province, 106 kilometers west of the huge harbor, Ningbo, and 50 kilometers east of beautiful Hangzhou, with Shanghai, Oriental Pearl, 185 kilometers away to the north. Keqiao has Guijishan Mountain on south and water-side plain on the north, mild and humid in climate, and boasts picturesque mountains and rivers, enjoying reputation of “being rich in agriculture production, silk and civilization” as well-known water-side area abounding in bridges, rice wine, calligraphy works, traditional opera works and famous scholars. With advantages of nature resources, geography, talents etc., Keqiao has made itself one of the most developed regions in Zhejiang. It has the largest fabric distribution center—China Fabric City, attracting all textiles and textile dealers. The entire region covers around 1040 square kilometers with 4 subdistricts, 12 towns affiliated and in 2013 had registered population of 642,900 and temporary resident population of 652,900.
