“He is affable and faithful to friends. Very few people in the world are so warm-hearted as him. So, it’s difficult for me to refuse such kindness while he is inviting me with great enthusiasm…” At 7:00 p.m. on the seventh day of lunar January, the classic Yue opera He Wenxiu started being staged with beautiful music at the Baihua Theatre, which is located by the Guazhu Lake. Citizens and tourists enjoyed the charm of flowers, listened to the waterfront village opera, and celebrated the Spring Festival.

Flowers were blooming to greet the Year of the Tiger. During the Spring Festival holiday, a Yue Opera concert titled “Hundred Flowers and Good Plays are ere to celebrate the New Year” was held in a different way, not only drawing classic Yue operas close to the live audience, but also displaying Keqiao District’s excellent opera art online. Within one week, 10 operas were performed meticulously both online and offline in order to entertain new and old residents of Keqiao District. Especially from the fifth day to the seventh day of lunar January, one performance was given after another at the Baihua Theatre. The Shaoxing Baihua Yue Opera Troupe’s “opening performance” given at the New Year attracted a wide audience, and many theatre fans said with excitement, “‘Art’ is a pair of wings for the tiger!”
