Stripe - The Most Dynamic Element in the Fashion Circle


No fashion element can cross the boundary of age, gender and time like stripe. Nearly every woman has a piece of striped clothing in her wardrobe, as it can show casual French grace all the time.


Zheng Weiling, General Manager of Jinfang Taihe, has operated striped fabrics in the east market of Keqiao China Textile City for more than 10 years. Stripe is a timeless element. It has vast room for pattern transformation and extension and can bring people different visual effects. Most importantly, it has no limit to age or gender, so stripe element has been very popular, especially the classic matching of black and white, blue and white, and red and white, Zheng Weiling told the reporter. In the new product exhibition hall of Jinfang Taihe, fashionable samples made of the new striped fabrics with wide stripes, thin stripes, slanting stripes and spliced stripes present a salubrious temperament.


French fashion designer Coco Chanel was so inspired by the sailor uniform that she introduced it to the Chanel Nautical Collection, and then stripes made waves in the fashion world. Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo also extensively applied stripes in her PLAY COMME des GARCONS. Coupled with the brand logo, her design has endowed stripes with a new soul and enabled the classic of the brand.


Nowadays, stripes are applicable to a wide variety of fabrics and styles. Every year and every season, there would be striped pieces in fashion weeks, which seem to be unchanged but changeable. With the support of luxury brands, stripes that are too casual become delicate and more exciting. This series of stripe element reinterprets the stripes coming from sailor’s striped shirts. With a sense of infinite extension, stripes can be bright or dark, and colorful or simple, presenting innumerable possibility and arousing our infinite imagination.
